Counseling Curriculum

Senior Year
In addition to the ongoing services in the CHRHS Counseling Office, as a 12th grader you can expect to:
  • Attend post-secondary planning refresh meeting (Red Folder) in the fall;  see SENIOR INFORMATION
  • Schedule and attend your Senior Interview
  • Continue to use Naviance as an important postsecondary tool
  • Attend college representative visits and regional college nights (as interested)
  • Attend financial aid meeting (if applicable)
  • Participate in scholarship offerings (White Folder) if applicable;  see SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION FOR SENIORS
  • Finalize and report postsecondary plans

Junior Year

In addition to the ongoing services in the CHRHS Counseling Office, as an 11th grader you can expect to:
  • Take the School Day PSAT in the fall
  • Continue postsecondary planning
  • Attend a Junior Visit with your counselor
  • Continue to use Naviance as an important postsecondary tool
  • Attend college representative visits and regional college nights (as interested)
  • Attend financial aid meeting (if applicable)
  • Take the SAT in the spring (if applicable)
  • Attend post-secondary planning meeting (Red Folder) in the late spring;  see SENIOR INFORMATION

Sophomore Year

In addition to the ongoing services in the CHRHS Counseling Office, as a 10th grader you can expect to:
  • Take the NWEA Through Year Test in the fall and spring
  • Attend a Sophomore Visit with your counselor
  • Begin to use Naviance as an important postsecondary tool
  • Explore college and/or career options

Freshman Year

In addition to the ongoing services in the CHRHS Counseling Office, as a 9th grader you can expect to:
  • Attend Freshman Orientation
  • Attend an introductory Freshman Visit with your counselor
  • Explore course offerings at CHRHS
