CHRHS Alumni Application Scholarships

The following scholarships use the CHRHS Alumni Application.  Submit one application packet for each scholarship for which you are applying.  Complete and submit application packets to the CHRHS Counseling Office on or before April 1st.  Late applications will not be accepted.  Each application packet must include the following:

√   CHRHS Alumni Application*
√   Essay
√   Copy of your most recent transcript
√   One letter of recommendation from a current college advisor, professor or employer.  

If the author of a letter of recommendation prefers to have the letter remain confidential, it may be mailed or submitted electronically to:

The Amon Vaughan Memorial Scholarship -- 
Amon was a graduate of Camden Hills Regional High School.  His passion was being a member of the Appleton Fire Department.  He wanted to expand this interest to the field of emergency medical services.  Unfortunately, his life ended before he had a chance to do this.  His friends and family continue to pass on assistance in the form of this scholarship which supports a student with the same interest.  The Amon Vaughan Memorial Scholarship is available to current members of the senior class as well as alumni of Camden Hills Regional High School and Midcoast School of Technology who have been accepted to or are currently enrolled in a continuing education program, university, or vocational technical school in the field of emergency medical services or firefighting services.

The Camden High School Alumni Scholarship -- The Camden High School Alumni Scholarship is available to current members of the senior class or any CHRHS (or Camden-Rockport High School) graduate who is a resident of any of the five towns:  Camden, Rockport, Hope, Appleton or Lincolnville.  Financial need will be considered.  This scholarship must be used in the year awarded.

The Frances Perry Trust Scholarship -- The Frances Perry Trust Scholarship is awarded to CHRHS graduates who are attending vocational technical programs, students who are studying fine arts, or those who are studying nursing.  Emphasis is placed on financial need.

The Gardner Brown Memorial Scholarship -- The Gardner Brown Memorial Scholarship may be awarded to a member of the senior class or alumni of CHRHS.  Applicants must be an Appleton resident of good character, attending a two-year or four-year college.

The Howard Tribou Memorial Scholarship -- The Howard Tribou Memorial Scholarship is awarded to current seniors or alumni of CHRHS in good standing who are residents of Camden or Rockport.

The Julie Landwehr Memorial Scholarship 
-- The Julie Landwehr Memorial Scholarship is awarded to current seniors or alumni of CHRHS who plan to enter the profession of hairstyling, by attending either cosmetology school or barber school.


The Lincolnville Business Group Scholarship -- Applicants for the Lincolnville Business Group Scholarship must be a current senior or CHRHS graduate.  Candidates should be well-rounded students who have been involved in extracurricular activities as well as community service.  Lincolnville residents are preferred.

The Lincolnville Community Foundation Scholarship -- Applicants for the Lincolnville Community Foundation Scholarship must be Lincolnville residents enrolled or enrolling in a two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational technical school who show good character and good academic achievement, as well as school and community involvement.

The Rockport Garden Club Scholarship -- The Rockport Garden Club Scholarship is available to current seniors as well as alumni of CHRHS who are local residents pursuing horticultural or environmental education.

The Timothy Crockett Memorial Golf Scholarship -- Applicants for the Timothy Crockett Memorial Golf Scholarship may be current seniors or alumni of CHRHS who are interested in golf or were members of the golf team.

The West Bay Rotary Scholarship -- The West Bay Rotary Scholarship is for any CHRHS graduate, current senior or alumni, who is entering any of the following:
  • Medicine: fields of science that are considered acceptable curriculum for pre-med studies that can later lead to a Doctorate of Medicine or Dentistry,  or nursing or medical technology BS degrees.
  • Engineering:  academically accepted fields of engineering studies leading to a BS degree
  •  Computer Science:   academically accepted fields of study leading to a BS degree.
  • West Bay Rotary will award one scholarship specifically to an applicant attending a school in the Maine Community College System where major fields of study lead to a career in a vocational/technical area. 


West Bay Rotary Scholarship recipients are expected to make a brief presentation to the West Bay membership, generally during the recipients' Christmas Holiday Break.   West Bay Scholarship recipients are also required to pass a minimum of 15 credit hours and attain a 2.5 GPA or better on a 4.0 grading system.

The Billy Williams Memorial Scholarship -- Applicants for the Billy Williams Memorial Scholarship may be current seniors or CHRHS alumni who study or plan to study Engineering.  Financial need is considered.
